2026 UTME begins nationwide today with 2.2m candidates
The 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) commenced nationwide today, April 16, with over 2.2 million candidates registered to sit the exam through April 22 across 966 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers.
JAMB Registrar Is-haq Oloyede emphasized zero tolerance for examination malpractices, warning candidates against bringing prohibited items. Advanced security measures including biometric verification and real-time monitoring systems have been deployed nationwide.
Candidates whose biometric details cannot be verified will be rescheduled to designated centers approved by JAMB. Each examination day is divided into four sessions to reduce congestion at centers.
For those writing, note that the examination at Aduvie International School, Jahi, started 10 minutes behind schedule today. Do you have your biometric details ready and your exam center logistics planned?
