4Sight Holdings has appointed Clark Fourie as chief information technology officer, Jeandré du Randt as chief business environment officer, and Essich Wassenaar as group frontier operations officer to advance its vision of enterprise AI that goes beyond chatbots. The South African JSE‑listed firm wants its proprietary 4Sight Automated Intelligence (4AI) platform to become a broader engine for automating business processes, built on four pillars: data structuring, process mapping, people‑skills upliftment, and change management. CEO Tertius Zitzke says AI should not be treated as another software layer that employees occasionally query; instead, it must design, execute and optimise the workflows that underpin a business. The new leadership aims to help organisations move from AI experimentation to practical solutions that deliver measurable value. Zitzke notes that while one in four jobs globally may be exposed to generative AI, transformation is more likely than outright replacement, and 4Sight is piloting projects that cut costs by 10 % while retaining staff—for example, by making accounts‑payable teams more efficient rather than cutting them. He also highlights how AI can extract useful information from paperwork, such as flagging a sudden rise in water consumption on a utility bill that could indicate a burst pipe. The real challenge, he adds, is getting employees to work differently: they need coaching, not just training, to collaborate with AI agents, adapt to redesigned processes and understand where human judgement remains essential. This progression leads to what he calls a digital twin—an AI system that works alongside an employee continuously, handling tasks while the human checks and approves output. For 4Sight, the lessons from its own AI transformation are being turned into products and services for customers.
