Access Holdings appoints Orimoloye as Access Bank Risk Director, effective Sept 21
Access Holdings Plc appointed Ifedayo Orimoloye as Executive Director, Risk Management of Access Bank Plc, effective September 21, 2026, following Central Bank of Nigeria approval. The appointment was disclosed in a regulatory filing signed by Group Company Secretary Sunday Ekwochi on Friday.
Orimoloye brings over 25 years of global risk management experience from leadership roles at major institutions including the African Development Bank, where he served as Group Chief Risk Officer overseeing a $40+ billion portfolio and supported AAA ratings from Moody's, S&P and Fitch. His background includes senior risk positions at Sterling Bank, Ecobank, Wells Fargo, HSBC and Citigroup, focusing on enterprise risk management, capital optimization and regulatory compliance.
The appointment reinforces Access Bank's commitment to strong governance and prudent risk management while supporting its "scale to value" strategy. Group Chairman Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede noted Orimoloye's strategic leadership will strengthen risk governance and contribute to long-term value creation. Orimoloye holds dual bachelor's degrees in Economics and Finance plus an MBA in Finance from California State University, Hayward.
This signals Access Bank's pursuit of international expertise to enhance its risk framework amid Nigeria's complex financial landscape. With Orimoloye's track record in managing large portfolios and driving compliance, the bank aims to bolster investor confidence and operational resilience.
Will this appointment translate to improved risk management practices that directly benefit customers and stakeholders, or will challenges implementing global standards in Nigeria's unique banking environment pose significant hurdles?
