Arewa Consultative Forum has forcefully rejected Peter Obi's one-term presidential pledge, calling it unconstitutional and undemocratic. In exclusive interview with DAILY POST, ACF National Secretary Tukur Baba criticized Obi's promise to serve only four years and handover power to the North, arguing it promotes regional division. 'Such a power shift is not a constitutional provision. The more we stick to power shift, the more we embrace division,' Baba stated.

The Northern socio-political group also delivered harsh verdict on President Bola Tinubu's three-year administration, describing it as 'shambolic.' ACF criticized Tinubu's handling of security, noting killings and kidnappings have continued to spread despite reshuffled security architecture. The group also slammed economic hardship, rising prices, and increased loans compared to previous governments.

ACF clarified they have no preferred presidential candidate but stressed their interest is in good governance, security, and economic stability. The statements come ahead of 2027 general elections where Peter Obi is expected to be a major contender. With security challenges persisting and economic difficulties affecting citizens, Nigerians face critical choices about leadership direction.
