ADC's National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi claimed on Channels TV's Politics Today (Monday) that their presidential ticket of Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi will defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election. Abdullahi also condemned a Federal High Court ruling ordering INEC to deregister ADC and four other parties, calling it judicial misconduct and insisting the party conducted a credible primary where Atiku defeated Amaechi for president before Amaechi became running mate.

This positions ADC as a direct challenger to Tinubu's APC in the 2027 election, with Abdullahi asserting any ADC aspirant would outperform the current administration. The claim comes as Tinubu, Atiku, and Peter Obi (NDC candidate) prepare for a rematch of their 2023 contest where Tinubu won with over 8 million votes. ADC insists they'll appear on the 2027 ballot despite the deregistration ruling and will hold a formal ticket unveiling soon.

ADC maintains their primary was credible despite Amaechi losing to Atiku then becoming VP candidate, noting many candidates have already contested elections under their platform. They reject the court ruling entirely, calling it an attack on democracy. With the 2027 election approaching, this sets up ADC as a potential third force challenging the APC-NDC duopoly, though their ballot access remains uncertain pending the deregistration case.
