The African Democratic Congress has demanded immediate resignation of INEC Chairman Professor Amupitan over alleged partisan behavior. ADC claims the emergence of a 2023 pro-Tinubu social media post linked to Amupitan raises serious concerns about electoral body's neutrality.

The party further alleges attempts to alter digital records to conceal past political affiliations, describing this as a threat to transparency and accountability. ADC argues that an electoral umpire must be perceived as impartial at all times, especially during elections.

With the 2027 elections approaching, ADC plans to escalate the matter to foreign governments, the Nigerian Bar Association, and intensify civil disobedience actions until Amupitan steps down. 'Anything less is an insult to the Nigerian people and a dangerous precedent for our democracy,' the statement said.
