ADC demands temporary fuel price cap to ease cost-of-living crisis

The opposition party argues that external shocks like the Middle East crisis should not justify unchecked fuel price hikes in an already fragile economy. According to the ADC, many Nigerians are still grappling with the economic impact of the fuel subsidy removal by the Tinubu administration. The party stressed that a temporary price cap would serve as a protective measure to stabilize fuel costs while the government explores sustainable long-term solutions for the energy sector. Without immediate intervention, continued petrol price increases could further strain household incomes, worsen inflation, and deepen economic hardship across the country.
