ADC Welcomes Court Ruling on Party Primaries Deadline

African Democratic Congress, ADC, has welcomed Thursday's Federal High Court ruling that removed restrictions on political party primaries and membership registration timelines. The court judgment validated ADC's earlier objections to electoral commission guidelines, which the party claimed targeted politicians leaving the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to ADC National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ruling confirms the party's position that certain provisions contradicted the Constitution. The ADC specifically welcomed the court's removal of restrictions that could hinder politicians from contesting elections on alternative political platforms.

'The decision of the Court on these issues...is therefore a welcome vindication of our position,' the statement read. The party anticipates a 'mass exodus from the ruling party' in coming days, suggesting the ruling will significantly impact Nigeria's political landscape ahead of elections.
