The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned President Tinubu's swift signing of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, calling it a "death warrant" for credible elections. The party alleges the amendments introduce ambiguity in result collation and transmission, lacking electronic transparency guarantees. ADC vows to mobilise Nigerians through constitutional means to defend democratic values, warning the rushed law could heighten election tensions. "Despite controlling 30+ states and majority in National Assembly, the haste raises questions about commitment to transparency," the statement said. The ADC insists no hastily enacted law can extinguish democratic aspirations, urging vigilance and lawful participation to protect constitutional rights.
