Adebayo promises solar panels on every Nigerian roof within 11 months
SDP presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has pledged to install solar panels on every Nigerian roof within 11 months of taking office if elected in the 2027 polls. Adebayo criticised past rural electrification strategies that relied on expensive 33 kVA lines, arguing instead for decentralised solar solutions. He urged the government to establish local solar panel manufacturing plants, possibly in partnership with China or India, and to train communities for installation and maintenance.
