Airtel Money plans LSE IPO, targets £67M cornerstone investment
Airtel Money has announced it will list its shares on the London Stock Exchange through an initial public offering that will sell only existing shares, raising no new capital. The mobile money arm of Airtel Africa said the IPO will give it a free float of at least 10% once admitted, with prospectus details expected in early October 2026 and the final offer price set in mid-October after book‑building. International Finance Corporation has agreed to invest up to £67.2 million (about $90 million) as a cornerstone investor, subject to the final price and other conditions.
CEO Ian Ferrao said the business had 53 million monthly active users as of June 30 2026, processed $213 billion in transaction value over the prior year, and generated $1.346 billion in revenue and $676 million of EBITDA—a 50 % margin and cash conversion above 90 %. The company is debt‑free, capital‑light and reaches 41 % of Airtel Africa’s 128.9 million telecom subscribers, leaving more than 75 million potential customers.
The listing follows years of preparation, with Citigroup named lead adviser in 2025 and Airtel Africa confirming London as the preferred venue in July 2026.
