According to the statement, the proposal was presented by a committee led by Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, who explained that the move is expected to address the increasing demand for university education and improve the institution’s global competitiveness. He further noted that the proposal includes the creation of multiple faculties, alongside a five-year sustainability plan to ensure smooth operation of the institution. “The upgrade will meet the rising demand for university education and position the institution for global competitiveness,” he said.
