Amaechi: Rule of law first priority as president
ADC chieftain and former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi revealed Friday that enforcing the rule of law would be his first action as president, criticizing the APC for weaponizing hunger against voters. Speaking on Arise Television late Friday, Amaechi accused President Tinubu of creating hunger to manipulate voters, stating that 'a bag of rice does not solve hunger for the rest of the year.' He questioned why the APC, if truly strong, influences government institutions against opposition parties instead of allowing them to thrive. The former minister emphasized that establishing law and order is essential for Nigeria's governance, adding that voters would collect rice handouts but still vote against the APC because hunger persists. This comes as political tensions intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, with major parties positioning themselves on governance approaches and economic policies.
