Amazon UAE Data Centers Hit by Drone Strikes, Disrupting Cloud Services
Two Amazon data centers in the UAE and one in Bahrain were directly struck by drones, causing structural damage and disrupting cloud services in parts of the Middle East. The provider confirmed the strikes resulted from ongoing conflict between the US/Israel and Iran, affecting power delivery and requiring fire suppression efforts. Amazon advised affected users to back up critical data and switch to servers in other regions. No employee injuries were reported.
