Ambassador Fubara Dagogo, an APC aspirant, has sued the party and three top officials in Abuja's Federal High Court, claiming he paid over N100 million for expression of interest and nomination forms on March 13, 2026, but was denied access to them despite meeting requirements. Dagogo names APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, National Vice Chairman (South-South) Victor Giadom, and National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Argungu as defendants, alleging officials blocked him from obtaining forms fearing he could defeat the incumbent. He seeks an order nullifying any South-South zonal congress results held without his participation and N100 million in damages for embarrassment, emotional distress and mental torture. The APC, through its lawyers, has asked the court to dismiss the suit, arguing it concerns internal party affairs and is therefore not justiciable. Filed before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, the case highlights the high financial stakes in party politics and internal APC tensions ahead of its national convention. With aspirants reportedly spending nine-figure sums just to access nomination forms, what does this say about barriers to meaningful participation in Nigeria's political process?
