All Progressives Congress (APC) is deep in leadership crisis as Alhaja Hafsatu Danladi declares herself factional chairperson, claiming to be the 'true and authentic Chairperson' of the ruling party. Her faction has notified INEC and plans to challenge current NWC chair Nentawe Yilwatda in Federal High Court in Abuja.

Danladi announced she will seek court orders to have INEC discontinue recognition of the current leadership structure, calling it 'illegitimate' and asserting her position is necessary to 'uphold the rule of law and protect the integrity of our party.'

This development comes amid internal party divisions that threaten to destabilize the ruling party ahead of future elections. The legal challenge could potentially create parallel leadership structures within the APC, further complicating party operations and governance.

For APC stakeholders and Nigerians following this, the question is whether this legal action will succeed in unseating the current leadership or exacerbate internal divisions within Nigeria's ruling party.
