Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has called on Nigerian politicians to avoid violence and electoral malpractices during this year's Eid-El-Kabir festival. The party's National Chairman, Dr Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, issued the message to Muslims nationwide, emphasizing the festival's virtues of faith, obedience, sacrifice, and compassion.

"We should use this Festival of Sacrifice to pray for the nation in this electoral season," Dr Dantalle stated. "Power belongs to Allah, and He gives it to whomever He wishes. Politicians should therefore shun violence and other electoral malpractices as we strive to build a decent democratic society that respects the sanctity of the ballot box."

The "People First" party also urged all levels of government to prioritize citizen welfare, noting that "the interest of the people supersedes partisan politics." APM highlighted its governance in Bauchi and Oyo States as proof of its commitment to this ideology. As the "fastest-growing political party in Nigeria," APM announced its readiness to "reset Nigeria" through the ongoing PDP-APM Alliance for the 2027 general elections. In a country where political tensions often rise before elections, should religious leaders play a more active role in promoting peaceful electoral processes?
