Aradel Holdings Plc shares are expected to open around N1,526.80 today, down from N1,549.80, following the N23.00 per share final dividend payment. The register of members closed Thursday, July 9, 2026, making investors who bought after that date ineligible for the dividend. This mechanical markdown reflects standard market practice where the share price adjusts by the dividend value.

The adjustment doesn't indicate loss of company value—it's the transfer of value from company to shareholders. Some investors may exit positions after qualifying for the dividend, potentially pushing prices lower over the next week. For new investors, this could create an entry opportunity below current levels.

Aradel's FY 2025 results show headline profit before tax of N835.01 billion (up 163.60%) and profit after tax of N757.34 billion (up 192.33%). However, 73.1% of pre-tax profit came from non-operational gains including N217.10 billion bargain purchase gain and N393.19 billion translation gain from acquiring 40% of ND Western.

Revenue grew 20% to N699.4 billion, while operating cash flow declined 42% to N179.70 billion. The total N33 dividend per share represents 79.8% of operating cash flow. The stock has gained 131% year-to-date from N670.00 to N1,549.80, with an all-time high of N2,024 hit in April before pulling back to N1,275.80 on July 3.

Investors should distinguish between the mechanical price drop and underlying operational performance before making decisions.
