Arsenal's Mosquera Reflects on Error That Cost UCL Final
Arsenal defender Cristhian Mosquera has spoken about the defensive error that allowed PSG to equalize in the Champions League final last Saturday. The 21-year-old Spaniard, who started ahead of Jurrien Timber, fouled Khvicha Kvaratskhelia inside the penalty area, leading to a successful Ousmane Dembele penalty that canceled out Arsenal's early Kai Havertz goal.
Despite the 4-3 penalty shootout defeat, Arsenal proceeded with their open-top bus parade to celebrate their Premier League championship. Mosquera addressed his mistake via Instagram following the parade, acknowledging the pain but expressing faith that the experience will ultimately strengthen him. "This setback, despite the pain it brings, will ultimately make me stronger," he wrote.
Arsenal, who dominated much of the match until Mosquera's error, had appeared nearly unassailable after taking the lead in the fifth minute. The defender was substituted immediately after the equalizer, with Timber replacing him for the remainder of the match.
