ASRAfrica Mentors Gather in NYC for Strategic Planning Session
The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) convened a stakeholder meeting in New York during UNCSW 70 to strategize the next phase of its mentorship program for young African women. The event celebrated mentors' impact on mentees' academic, personal, and professional journeys while reflecting on the program's three-year outcomes. ASR Africa's mentorship initiative has supported over 200 mentees across Nigeria, Zambia, and Senegal, with upcoming expansions to Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana. Speaking at the event, ASR Africa's MD/CEO highlighted the program's transformative role in creating clarity and smooth career transitions for young women. Guest of honor Pamela Morgan praised ASR Africa's sustained commitment to mentorship as a powerful tool for women's empowerment beyond education. The highlight was the presentation of certificates to distinguished mentors in recognition of their dedication. This structured capacity-building initiative underscores ASR Africa's belief that sustained mentorship is essential to nurturing future leaders across Africa.
