Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar criticised President Bola Tinubu for issuing repeated condemnations without concrete action on Nigeria's worsening insecurity, citing recent attacks in Oyo and Katsina states where schoolchildren and teachers were abducted and killed. Atiku argued the government's response has become a predictable ritual: condemn killings, threaten legal action, then wait for the next massacre, leaving Nigerians tired of meaningless outrage.

He stated that armed criminals now operate with confidence because they no longer fear state authority, pointing to incidents where terrorists invaded schools, abducted children and teachers, killed pregnant women, and sacked communities without consequence. Atiku warned that attempts to suppress information about violent incidents would demonstrate governmental cruelty rather than mere incompetence, endangering democracy.

Calling for urgent action, Atiku demanded the rescue of abducted victims, strengthened security responses, and an overhaul of what he described as the country's failing security system. He contended that a president who only speaks after bloodshed is not leading but presiding over systemic failure, as Nigerians hear the same script after every tragedy.

With insecurity persisting despite official rhetoric, do you believe condemnations without tangible security improvements constitute leadership failure, or should citizens await promised future actions from the administration?
