ATSSSAN has suspended its planned industrial action against Air Peace after union leaders met with Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu in Abuja on September 3. The union’s General Secretary, Frances Akinjole, said the police urged both sides to maintain peace while investigating the August 11 picketing that had grounded Air Peace flights nationwide before government intervention. The suspension averts a fresh disruption to Nigeria’s aviation sector that could have stranded travelers and affected cargo movements. Air Peace operates domestic and regional flights from major hubs including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano, so a strike would have impacted thousands of daily passengers. Travelers with upcoming Air Peace bookings are advised to verify flight status directly with the airline or through official channels, as the situation remains subject to any further developments from the ongoing police inquiry. The police also said they will engage with other parties mentioned in the Air Peace lawyer’s petition, including the airline itself, to resolve underlying grievances. Will you keep your travel plans as usual, or stay updated for any changes from Air Peace and the authorities?
