Bella Okagbue Serves Pre-Action Notice on Sheggz Over Loans, Abuse
Bella Okagbue’s lawyers served Sheggz (Segun Olusemo) with a pre‑action notice on Saturday, demanding repayment of alleged loans totalling £10,166 and ₦19.826 million and warning of further legal action over claims of domestic abuse and his failure to fulfil repeated promises to marry her. The notice follows a cease‑and‑desist and defamation letter sent by Sheggz’s lawyers around 21 August, accusing Bella of making false statements about him and his family. Bella and Sheggz met during the 2022 BBNaija ‘Level Up’ season, dated for about four years, and lived together in the United Kingdom. Sheggz announced the relationship ended in January 2026, citing unresolved trust and respect issues, while denying cheating or abuse. Bella’s lawyers allege the marriage promises were made through TV appearances, social media, family gatherings and private conversations, and that she suffered stigma, reputational damage, emotional distress and psychological harm from the broken promise. They also cite the Supreme Court decision in Ezeanah v Atta (2004) to support possible remedies under Nigerian law. Sheggz’s side says he spent about £220,000 of personal funds on Bella while they lived in the UK and describes himself as the principal provider. The matter remains at the pre‑action stage; no court has ruled on any of the allegations.
