Bendel Insurance names Amas Obasogie captain, Kayode Oke vice-captain
Bendel Insurance have named Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie their new captain, with reliable striker Kayode Oke appointed as vice-captain, according to DAILY POST. Obasogie returned to the Benin-based club for a second stint last month after a spell with Tanzanian side Singinda Black Stars. The 26-year-old shot stopper made 33 league appearances for Bendel Insurance in the 2023/24 season before leaving for Ethiopian club Fasil Kenema at the end of that campaign. Prior to his first stint with Insurance, he played for the Benin Arsenals, and after his time in Tanzania with Singinda Black Stars he returned to Benin City. His experience spans domestic league football, Tanzanian top-flight and Ethiopian Premier League, giving him a broad perspective on leadership and professionalism. Coach Kennedy Boboye’s side have recorded one win and one defeat from their opening two games of the 2026/27 season. Will Obasogie’s leadership and experience help Bendel Insurance climb the table and push for a higher finish this year?
