Bharti Airtel boosts direct Airtel Africa stake to 79.2% via internal share swap
Bharti Airtel swapped shares with Mauritius-based Indian Continent Investment Limited on June 22, 2026, acquiring 595.2 million Airtel Africa shares (16.35% stake) in exchange for 146.8 million new Bharti Airtel shares. This internal restructuring boosted Bharti Group's direct ownership in Airtel Africa from 62.32% to 79.22%.
