Biker Chibeda continues cancer awareness ride despite Burkina Faso accident
Cancer campaigner Chienyenwa Amadi, popularly known as Chibeda, sustained serious injuries three days into her Nigeria-to-Europe-and-back motorcycle journey to raise awareness for cancer patients. In Burkina Faso, her box fell and ran under her tyre, throwing her off and requiring 10 stitches on one finger and 15 on the other, plus removal of her nails.
Despite the doctor recommending two weeks' rest, she returned to the road on the fourth day. Amadi says she couldn't afford to fail because so many cancer patients depend on her voice. She explains that many patients suffer in silence due to stigma, and she uses her platform to give them visibility and hope.
The journey aims to raise funds and awareness for cancer warriors struggling with treatment costs. Amadi insists the ride must continue to remind patients they're not alone and that they can fight with family support. Her message: speak up about cancer, don't suffer silently.
