Borno State's African Democratic Congress (ADC) faces a deepening leadership crisis as two factions back different governorship candidates for the 2027 election. Dr Muhammad Khala's faction recognizes Attom Muhammad Magira as their candidate, citing a Court of Appeal judgment in suit No. CA/ABJ/CV/608/2026 regarding party state executive leadership.

However, acting chairman Bukar Kolo rejects Magira's recognition, insisting Babagana Buhari remains the party's candidate from the national governorship primary. Kolo argues the court judgment didn't declare Magira as governorship candidate and notes the leadership dispute is now before the Supreme Court.

Magira welcomed his faction's support but challenged Kolo to provide evidence of his position as acting chairman. The competing claims leave Borno ADC with unclear candidacy ahead of 2027 polls.

For Borno voters, this internal party conflict raises questions about which candidate INEC will recognize on the ballot. Should you verify candidate status through official INEC channels before deciding your vote, or monitor the Supreme Court proceedings that could resolve this dispute?
