The Corporate Affairs Commission issued a notice on Wednesday, July 15 July 15, 2026, placing 100,000 companies at risk of being struck off its register for failing to file statutory Annual Returns and Persons with Significant Control (PSC) information. Affected entities have 90 days to regularize records by submitting all outstanding Annual Returns and PSC data to CAC's designated email address, or face automatic deregistration without further notice under Sections 692(3)-(4) of CAMA 2020.

This enforcement follows similar actions in February 2026 and 2025's deregistration of over 400,000 companies, reflecting CAC's ongoing effort to maintain an accurate corporate register. Under CAMA, companies must file Annual Returns within 42 days of incorporation anniversary (Business Names by June 30 yearly), with PSC disclosure enhancing transparency and combating money laundering per global standards.

Companies should verify their filing status immediately, gather required documents, and submit via CAC's official email channel before the October 13, 2026 deadline to avoid losing legal registration status and associated business rights.
