World News Ceasefire: No planned meeting with US in Pakistan – Iran Published on April 25, 2026 By Matthew Atungwu Iran has clarified that there is no planned meeting with the United States in Pakistan. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, made this known in a post via X on Friday. According to him, there are no plans for a meeting between Iranian and US negotiators in Pakistan. “No meeting is planned to take place between Iran and the US. Iran’s observations would be conveyed to Pakistan,” Baghaei wrote. Baghaei reiterated that Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, is in Pakistan to meet with Pakistani officials in concert with their ongoing mediation and good offices for ending the American imposed war of aggression and the restitution of peace in our region. The spokesman’s statement added yet another mixed signal to a week full of uncertainty over the status of peace negotiations. Meanwhile, the White House earlier said that Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff would travel to Pakistan on Saturday to engage in direct talks with the Iranians.
