Chaka, Nigeria’s first SEC-licensed digital sub-broker, has rebranded to Hisa and launched a new investment app offering access to Nigerian stocks and ETFs. The Swahili‑named platform reflects the company’s pan‑African ambition and aims to boost retail investing adoption by focusing on simplicity, transparency and automation. Existing Chaka users can update their app to access the Hisa experience, while new users can download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and sign up directly.

The move comes as African fintech shifts from building infrastructure to driving adoption. Despite widespread access to digital financial products and public markets, many Africans still see investing as complex, expensive or reserved for the financially sophisticated. Hisa attempts to lower those barriers with a redesigned user experience, clear fee structures and automated portfolio tools. The app also lets users keep their existing portfolios and account histories.
