The second Nigeria Broadcasting Awards ceremony honored excellence in broadcasting with Channels Television winning Television Station of the Year. The event organized by Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) in Abuja recognized 248 entries across multiple categories.

Prominent Nigerians honored include Governors Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Bassey Otu (Cross River), and Uba Sani (Kaduna), alongside industry leaders like Dr. John Momoh (Channels TV) who received a lifetime achievement award. Former NTA Director General Shyngle Wigwe (father of late banking tycoon Herbert Wigwe), Yemi Farounbi, and Malam Abubakar Jijiwa also received lifetime achievement honors.

In competitive categories, Channels TV won against Arise News and TVC nominees. Eko FM swept radio categories winning Radio Station of the Year and Best News (English). The ceremony celebrated 30-minute programs across television and radio, with winners selected for excellence in news, documentaries, and productions. What does this recognition of broadcasting excellence mean for Nigeria's media landscape as digital technology transforms the industry?
