Chelsea's Alonso excludes Paez from plans after River Plate loan cut short

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has told 19-year-old Ecuadorian international midfielder Kendry Paez he is not in the first-team plans after his River Plate loan was terminated. Paez returned to Stamford Bridge in late August, and Chelsea failed to secure another loan in England before the September 1 deadline despite efforts to find him an alternative deal.

The teenager has not played for Chelsea since joining from Independiente del Valle last summer, stalling his development at a key age. Alonso confirmed: 'At the moment he is not part of the first-team squad. He's not in our plans,' stating Paez won't be reintegrated before the January transfer window opens.

Now facing limited prospects at Chelsea, Paez must decide whether to wait for a January opportunity, fight for a place in training, or pursue a loan or transfer elsewhere to restart his career and gain essential playing time at this critical stage of his development.
