Chowdeck launches accident insurance for 20,000 riders

Chowdeck has partnered with MyCoverGenius to provide accident insurance for over 20,000 active riders, covering medical expenses, temporary disability, and lost income compensation. The partnership, initiated in November 2024, automatically enrolls all riders and addresses the financial vulnerability of gig workers whose earnings fluctuate daily. Umar Nasir, Chowdeck's Head of Operations, stated the initiative aims to secure riders' well-being alongside their delivery work. This follows similar insurance efforts by Bolt and inDrive, signaling growing industry recognition of gig workers' welfare needs.
