City Boy Movement appoints Isaac Balami as executive board member and national director
Isaac Balami, aviation entrepreneur and former Obidient Movement member, has been appointed as executive board member and National Director on Special Duty of the City Boy Movement. The appointment was formalized on September 3, 2026, with papers presented by Director-General Francis Oluwatosin Shoga and National Secretary Tosin Odufuwa. Balami, who recently left the Obidient Movement, has been actively mobilising support groups and political associates towards the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This appointment is significant as Balami is described as the first Christian from Northern Nigeria to serve on the movement's executive board, a development supporters believe would strengthen ethnic, religious and regional representation within the organisation. His growing influence among youth political groups in the North and Middle Belt regions is expected to boost President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 campaign mobilisation efforts in those areas. The move comes amid broader political realignment as Balami shifts support from Obidient to APC.
Balami's role places him at the centre of coordinating the City Boy Movement's political mobilisation and network expansion nationwide. He previously served as Deputy Campaign Manager for the Obi/Datti 2023 campaign organisation. The movement also appointed Ahmad Abdulaziz Yari, son of former Zamfara State Governor Abdul'aziz Yari, to its board, further strengthening its structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
