Civil Society Urges Tinubu to Reject Fasina Ambassadorial Nomination

A coalition of civil society organisations has urged President Bola Tinubu to withdraw the ambassadorial nomination of Professor Abayomi Fasina, former Vice‑Chancellor of the Federal University Oye‑Ekiti (FUOYE). The coalition argues that while the presumption of innocence remains intact, nominating someone under active judicial scrutiny risks undermining public confidence in accountability, the rule of law and Nigeria’s commitment to tackling sexual harassment.
