Comfort Erhabor has signed a two-year contract with Crystal Palace Women's Super League side, the club announced on September 3, 2026. The 21-year-old goalkeeper, who was born in the Netherlands and raised in England, chose to represent Nigeria internationally and made her Super Falcons debut in a February 2026 friendly against Cameroon. She was also named to Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, though she did not play as the Super Falcons exited in the quarter-finals to eventual champions Cameroon.

Erhabor’s move comes after a stint with Portsmouth, where she joined in July 2025 and made six appearances across all competitions. Her youth career began at Brighton & Hove Albion Academy, with loan spells at Hibernian and Plymouth Argyle. Crystal Palace manager Jo Potter described her as a promising young goalkeeper, adding that the club is thrilled to have her.

This signing highlights a growing trend of Nigerian women’s footballers securing contracts in England’s top flight, following defender Rofiat Imuran’s transfer to Aston Villa Women for the 2026/27 season. For young goalkeepers back home, Erhabor’s path shows that dedication and solid performances can open doors overseas.

What does this move mean for the future of Nigerian talent targeting European leagues, and will you follow her progress in the WSL as a benchmark for local aspiration?
