Cooking Gas Prices Surge 50% in 3 Days in Abuja
Cooking gas prices jumped 50% in just three days across Abuja and its environs, rising from N1,500 to between N1,700 and N1,800 per kilogram. The latest increase of N200-N300 comes two days after prices were already raised from N1,200 to N1,500 per kg.
According to DAILY POST market surveys, the continuous price hikes are impacting households during the Eid-ul-Adha celebration. The Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers attributes the surge to scarcity and has called for government intervention.
This significant price increase affects families who rely on cooking gas for daily meal preparation. With gas now costing N1,800 per kg, many households may need to adjust their cooking methods or increase their budget for essential kitchen fuel. Will you switch to alternative cooking methods, increase your cooking budget, or wait for potential price stabilization?
