Centre for Public Accountability passed vote of confidence on TETFund leadership Thursday, citing exemplary service delivery and impact in education sector. The civil society organization conducted nationwide assessment of TETFund operations under Executive Secretary Sonny Echono, finding ₦1.8 trillion disbursed between 2011-2024 across universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

Over 152,000 infrastructural projects including lecture theatres, libraries, laboratories, and hostels have been executed nationwide. Despite economic challenges, TETFund maintained funding - with universities receiving ₦2.8 billion each, polytechnics ₦1.9 billion, and colleges ₦2.1 billion in the 2025 intervention cycle.

CPA urged continued monitoring to ensure efficient project execution and proper fund utilization. As beneficiary institutions receive these interventions, stakeholders must uphold accountability standards to maximize educational impact across Nigeria's tertiary institutions.
