Abubakar, stated this while addressing journalists on the seizure of 43,750 litres of petrol valued at N43.7m intercepted by the Operation Whirlwind’ Team of the Niger/Kwara axis, at the Customs command headquarters, in Ilorin Kwara State on Wednesday. Abubakar, appealed to the general public, particularly those residing in border communities, to sustain their cooperation with security agencies by providing credible and real time information. He asserted that the fight against smuggling is a collective responsibility and the public support remains indispensable in protecting the nation’s economic stability. The coordinator said transparency and accountability remain at the core of the team’s operational framework. He reassured the public that ‘Operation Whirlwind’ will continue to enhance its surveillance capabilities, strengthen intelligence gathering and intensify enforcement actions across all operational fronts. Abubakar, acknowledged the pivotal role of the office of the National Security Advisor in providing strategic intelligence direction and comprehensive policy support under the leadership of Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and for his unwavering commitment to tackling Nigeria’s security challenges.
