Nigerian Customs suspended an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) company for false consignment declarations, halting its status under the AEO Guidelines and Customs Service Act, 2023. The Comptroller-General, Adewale Adeniyi, ordered the suspension after the company violated program obligations. Despite this, the AEO program contributed N362.97 billion to revenue, boosting total collections from N1.222 trillion to N1.585 trillion (29.68% growth) as of October 2025. The defaulting company's compliance breach involved false declarations, leading to its immediate AEO status revocation. This action underscores Customs' commitment to program integrity while highlighting the AEO's significant revenue impact.
