Dangote Cement announces London Capital Markets Day for Sept 21, 2026
Dangote Cement Plc will host a Capital Markets Day (CMD) in London on 21 September 2026 to update investors on its strategy, operations and business priorities. The event supports the company's plan for a secondary listing in London to access international capital, coinciding with FTSE Russell's upgrade of Nigeria to frontier market status effective the same day. Nigeria lost its frontier market position in 2023 after pandemic-era FX crises forced dollar rationing by the CBN, causing foreign participation in Nigeria's equity market to fall to 5.6% in July 2026 from a pre-pandemic high of 66.8% in September 2019. Dangote Cement aims to consolidate its pan-African status and broaden its shareholder base through the London listing, with the CMD offering direct engagement with senior management. The company will provide the agenda and presentation documents closer to the date. Will this initiative succeed in reversing the trend of declining foreign investment in Africa's largest economy?
