Dele Momodu clarifies no intent to abuse Amaechi in ADC presidential race feud
Veteran journalist Dele Momodu has clarified to Chibuike Amaechi that he did not intend to insult the former Rivers State governor amid their disagreement over ADC presidential nomination. Momodu was responding to Amaechi's criticism of Atiku Abubakar for claiming he doesn't support zoning, with both politicians vying for the ADC presidential ticket. Reports suggest influential ADC members urged Amaechi to withdraw for Atiku, a request the former governor refused while expressing confidence in securing the nomination. In a Channels TV interview, Momodu advised Amaechi to 'cool temper,' noting that potential presidents must watch their temperament. In a subsequent X post, Momodu shared photos with Amaechi, calling him 'my dear friend and brother' and explaining he only spoke 'candidly the way true friends must speak to each other.' This internal ADC dispute comes as the party prepares for its 2027 presidential primaries with both candidates actively campaigning for the nomination.
