This means that on a day-to-day basis, the Naira appreciated significantly by N4.5 against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market. Thursday’s appreciation is the second consecutive gain achieved by the local currency this week. Meanwhile at the black market, the Naira remained flat at N1,395 per dollar on Thursday, the same exchange rate recorded the previous day. The development comes as the country’s foreign reserves drop further to $48.37 billion as of 29th April 2026, according to the apex bank data.
