Eboue advises Arteta to bench Timber in PSG final
Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Eboue has advised manager Mikel Arteta to leave right-back Jurrien Timber on the bench against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on Saturday. Timber's last appearance for Arsenal came back in March during the victory against Everton, as he continues recovering from a groin injury. 'Timber will want to play,' Eboue told Metro. 'As a player, your dream is to play the Champions League final. But he hasn't played for a long time. He has to wait a little bit.' The Dutch international could still feature in the final, but Eboue believes the tactical decision is crucial. 'The PSG team, they're so strong and so fast, so I think it's better for Arteta to leave him on the bench.' Arsenal faces PSG in what could be a defining match for their season, with Timber's availability potentially swinging the balance at right-back.
