EFCC Arrests 20 Suspects for FCT Election Offences

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested 20 suspects for electoral offences during the February 21, 2026, FCT area council elections. Suspects were detained across the FCT for vote buying, vote selling, and obstruction of officers, totaling ₦17,218,700 in alleged bribes. One suspect was caught with ₦13,500,000 in a car near a polling booth in Kwali LGA. Arrests occurred in Abaji (2), Gwagwalada (9), Kuje (4), and Kwali (4). The suspects face court charges after investigations conclude. This enforcement action follows INEC's conduct of elections in six FCT area councils and by-elections in Rivers and Kano states.
