Nigeria's Sultan of Sokoto confirmed Eid-el-Fitr will be observed on Friday, 20 March, after the Ramadan crescent moon was not sighted on Wednesday evening. This aligns with Saudi Arabia's announcement that Ramadan will complete 30 days. The Nigerian government has already declared 19th and 20th March as public holidays. Muslims are urged to report credible moon sightings via Sultan's office numbers: 0803 715 7100, 0806 630 3077, 0803 596 5322, 0803 594 5903, and 0706 714 6900. Eid marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting and reflection, with special prayers expected in mosques nationwide.
