El-Rufai alleges ICPC demanded he quit politics to secure release
Former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai alleges ICPC officials demanded he cease political activities as a condition for his release from detention. In a 30-page court complaint, El-Rufai claims ICPC chairman Musa Adamu Aliyu and officials told him during detention that freedom required withdrawal from politics. The allegation forms Count Six of his suit, accusing officials of wrongful confinement under Sections 264 and 267 of the Penal Code. El-Rufai argues this constitutes abuse of office and unlawful restriction of constitutional rights. The ICPC has not yet responded to the allegations.
