The European Union Council has prolonged restrictive measures against Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) for another year, extending the sanctions until January 20, 2027. The sanctions target individuals and entities that support, facilitate, or commission violent actions by these designated terrorist organizations.

Those identified face an asset freeze, while EU citizens and companies are prohibited from providing funds, arms, and related materials to them. All listed individuals are also subject to a travel ban, preventing entry or transit through EU member states.

Following an annual review, the Council removed one deceased individual from the list, leaving a total of 11 individuals and three entities under the prohibitions. The original framework was established on January 19, 2024, after the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023. Similar EU regulations have targeted other terrorist groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda since 2016, applying to 15 individuals and eight groups until October 31, 2026. The Council reviews these lists at least every 12 months.
