The European Union has extended its arms embargo on Zimbabwe until February 20, 2027, following an annual review. The decades-long ban prohibits military equipment transfers that could be used for internal repression. While lifting travel bans and asset freezes, the EU continues monitoring sanctions effectiveness. This follows 2002 sanctions over human rights violations under Robert Mugabe. The EU also provides $81.2 million in humanitarian aid for DRC conflict displacement, with Commissioner Lahbib visiting affected regions.
