FAAN Bans Cash at Nigerian Airports Starting March 1
Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) will stop accepting cash at all pay points including access gates, car parks, and executive lounges starting Sunday, March 1. The move is part of FAAN's 'Go Cashless' initiative to modernize airport transactions, making them faster, safer, and fully digital in line with Central Bank of Nigeria's cashless directive. Passengers must use digital payments via NFC-enabled cards at all airports. FAAN expects this to increase revenue collection by 50% initially and triple it within a year. Collect cards at access gates for 'Tap and Go' transactions to avoid queues. Details at www.faan.ng.
